Catudal's Winter 2021 Courses

“The unexamined life is not worth living’.” Socrates

Welcome!

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the study of philosophy. The links above lead to the
PHIL 101 Introduction to Western Philosophy course I am teaching this quarter. Click on the “PHIL 101 Read Me” link (above) after you have read the following important information.

We are living in challenging times. The necessity for pursuing online many more courses than is usual at Drexel University will be obvious to all. What isn’t obvious, particularly if you’ve never had a synchronous online course, is that it is very easy to fall behind very quickly. So make every effort to keep up with the material as it is presented to you. Be assured that I am always available should you wish to discuss any of the issues we will be broaching this quarter.

CONTACT INFORMATION DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Contact hours are on Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. beginning Tuesday, January 12th. Contact with me may be by Zoom session or by cell/FaceTime session. In either case, please send me an email message (cat@drexel.edu) letting me know when during contact hours you want to talk. (If Tuesday and Thursday afternoons are unavailable to you, let me know available times and we will work something out.) Once I have received your message, I will send you the Zoom link for our session. I will initiate the session, so be ready by your computer on the day and at the time you've requested.

Alternatively, you can call me on the phone during contact hours. My cell/FaceTime number is (267) 615-8354; we don't have to use FaceTime if you don't want to.

In the meantime, here's wishing you an interesting and productive winter quarter.
